Valve Standards

ANSI Standards for Valve Creation & Repairs

Ball ValveOur goal at Copeland Valve is to provide products and services that go above and beyond valve standards recognized nationally and globally. Our valve manufacturing, repair, and reconditioning services all meet applicable standards from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), including:

  • ANSI B16.34 valve standards for flanged, threated, and welding end
  • ANSI B16.25 valve standards for buttwelding ends
  • ANSI B1.20.0 standards for pipe threads, general purpose, and inch
  • ANSI PTC 25 standards for pressure relief devices

ANSI is an independent not-for-profit organization that sets standards for uniformity for products and processes. These voluntary standards help ensure consistency for valve performance, manufacturing processes, and valve services. Copeland adheres to these strict guidelines to ensure you receive quality products that you can count on, even in severe or critical service applications.

Strict Adherence to Severe Service Valve Standards

In addition to ANSI valve standards, Copeland also follows other national and global standards for our valves and services.

Some of the standards that may apply to valves and services that we provide include:

Because we’re dedicated to providing superior quality valves and valve services, our team works hard to ensure all our products and services meet the standards you know and trust to meet your requirements. All the valves we manufacture and service go through extensive testing to ensure they meet quality and performance standards so you know you’re receiving the best industrial ball valves for your applications.

All our valves also must pass our own Copeland zero leakage test as well as other applicable standards. This test checks the packing box, ball and seat area, and body gasket for leakage. Our criteria for our zero leakage test means there are no detectable leaks of gas or liquid for three minutes after multiple cycles and under various pressure conditions. This is to ensure our severe service ball valves can withstand heavy duty industrial applications, such as high temperature, high pressure, high cycle rates, abrasives, and corrosives. Because we maintain such strict adherence to testing, performance, and acceptance standards, you have peace of mind that your valves will offer long-lasting, efficient, excellent performance.
